Reasons for Refusal

The reason for refusal relates to the following matters:
• T1 Sycamore- crown reduce 30%:
Reduce existing height from 21m to 15m
Reduce existing spread from 17m to 12m
There is not sufficient evidence showing that the proposed works are justified, in accordance with industry best practice, as detailed in the latest edition of British Standard 3998. As such, the proposals would be contrary to BS3998 and Local Plan Policy SP33 ‘Conserving and Enhancing the Natural Environment.’
Conditions imposed:

Consent is granted to the following schedule of works, and refers to the submitted applicant’s site plan:

Reduce existing height from 21m to 18m
Reduce existing spread from 17m to 14m
• Crown lift to 5m above ground level

All tree works detailed in condition 1 shall be carried out in accordance with British Standard 3998: 2010, unless otherwise stated in the application.

Please note the authorised works should be completed within 2 years of the decision notice otherwise a new application for consent to carry out any non-exempt tree work will be required.
