Reasons for Refusal

The reason for refusal relates to the following matters:
• T11- Beech tree. 25% crown reduction with deadwood removal. Crown lift to 3 metres.
There is not sufficient evidence presented that the proposed works are justified, in accordance with industry best practice, as detailed in the latest edition of British Standard 3998. As such, the proposals would be contrary to BS3998 and Local Plan Policy SP33 ‘Conserving and Enhancing the Natural Environment.’
Conditions imposed:

Consent is granted to the following schedule of works, and refers to the submitted applicant’s site plan:
T11- Beech Prune lower crown branches only in East facing crown, to clear adjacent building (No.9 Peppercorn Way) by min. 4m. Reduce encroaching lower crown branches by 2m to suitable growth points, leaving minimum 6m crown from stem-crown edge.

All tree works detailed in condition 1 shall be carried out in accordance with British Standard 3998: 2010, unless otherwise stated in the application.

Please note the authorised works should be completed within 2 years of the decision notice otherwise a new application for consent to carry out any non-exempt tree work will be required.
