The proposed development will result in the tipping of waste material in a sensitive Local Wildlife Site (Canklow Wood), to the detriment of Ecology and Local Wildlife, contrary to local planning polices CS20 ‘Biodiversity & Geodiversity’, SP32 ‘Green Infrastructure and Landscape’, SP33 ‘Conserving & enhancing the natural environment’, SP34 ‘Sites protected for nature conservation’ SP35 ‘Protected and priority species’ and the National Planning Policy Framework (NPPF).
POSITIVE AND PROACTIVE STATEMENT
Whilst the applicant entered into pre application discussions with the Local Planning Authority these identified that it is not possible to support a scheme of this nature and no amendments have been identified at this time to make it acceptable. The application was submitted on the basis of these discussions and it was not considered to be in accordance with the principles of the National Planning Policy Framework resulting in this refusal.
