01
The proposed fencing and gate by virtue of their height, length, siting and appearance to the front of the property in a prominent position has introduced an incongruous feature which is clearly visible within the street scene and is detrimental to the appearance of the host property, as well as the streetscene and character of the area in general. As such the development is contrary to Local Plan Policies CS28 ‘Sustainable Development’ and SP55 ‘Design Principles’, as well as the Council’s SPD ‘Householder Design Guide’ and the guidance in the National Planning Policy Framework and the National Planning Practice Guidance.
Informative
Enforcement action has been authorised requiring the removal of the unauthorised fencing and gate which front Wombwell Avenue, and removal of any fencing over 1m within 1m of the highway, within a compliance period of 3 months. Appropriate action should be taken to secure the removal of the fencing and gates to avoid formal enforcement action
