The Council considers that the proposed telecommunications mast will form an incongruous feature in the streetscene due to its prominent siting in the historic centre of the village. A full assessment of potential alternative sites, including on third party land put forward by the Parish Council, has not been carried out. As such, the mast will detrimentally affect the visual amenity of the streetscene and the appearance of the area more widely, contrary to Local Plan Policy SP61 ‘Telecommunications’ and the advice contained in the National Planning Policy Framework.
