The Council considers that the retention of the storage unit in this location would have a detrimental visual impact on the streetscene and the locality and its continued use would adversely impact on the residential amenity of nearby occupiers by way of noise and disturbance contrary to Local Plan Policies SP55 ‘Design Principles’,
SP11 ‘Development in Residential Areas’ and SP52 ‘Pollution Control’

Enforcement action has been authorised requiring the removal of the storage container with a compliance period of 3 months.
POSITIVE AND PROACTIVE STATEMENT
The applicant did not enter into any pre application discussions with the Local Planning Authority. It is not possible to support a scheme of this nature and no amendments have been identified at this time to make it acceptable. It was not considered to be in accordance with the principles of the National Planning Policy Framework and resulted in this refusal.
