Reasons for Refusal

The reason for refusal relates to the following matters:
• T1 sycamore- crown reduce
• Reduce height from approximately 25m to 19m (5m reduction)
• Reduce spread from approximately 15m to 10m (5m reduction)
There is not sufficient evidence showing that the proposed works are justified, in accordance with industry best practice, as detailed in the latest edition of British Standard 3998. As such, the proposals would be contrary to BS3998 and Local Plan Policy SP33 ‘Conserving and Enhancing the Natural Environment.’
Conditions imposed:

Consent is granted to the following schedule of works, and refers to the submitted applicant’s site plan:
Tree Species Consented Works
T1 Sycamore Crown reduction- (equivalent to 20% crown reduction)
Reduce height from 16m to approx. 14m height.
Reduce spread from 11m to approx. 9m average (edge to edge).

All tree works detailed in condition 1 shall be carried out in accordance with British Standard 3998: 2010, unless otherwise stated in the application.

Please note the authorised works should be completed within 2 years of the decision notice otherwise a new application for consent to carry out any non-exempt tree work will be required.
