The reason for refusal relates to the following matters:
• T1 (tree A on sketch plan) Silver Birch- Reduce to 7 metres overall height with removal of associated branches.
• T2 (Tree B on sketch plan) Silver Birch- Reduce to 7 metres overall height with removal of associated branches.
There is not sufficient evidence showing that the proposed works are justified, in accordance with industry best practice, as detailed in the latest edition of British Standard 3998. As such, the proposals would be contrary to BS3998 and Local Plan Policy SP33 ‘Conserving and Enhancing the Natural Environment.’
Conditions imposed:

Consent is granted to the following schedule of works, and refers to the submitted applicant’s site plan:
Tree Species Consented Works
T1 Silver Birch (Tree A) Remove damaged branches
T2 Silver Birch (Tree B) Remove damaged branches

All tree works detailed in condition 1 shall be carried out in accordance with British Standard 3998: 2010, unless otherwise stated in the application.

Please note the authorised works should be completed within 2 years of the decision notice otherwise a new application for consent to carry out any non-exempt tree work will be required.
